Insurance Coverage for Nutrition Services

Your Policy May Cover the Visits!

Did you know that many health insurance companies cover nutritional counseling? This is often the case EVEN if you don’t have an actual diagnosis BUT still want to come in for nutrition counseling for the prevention of disease.

Why not check to see if your insurance policy will cover the visits? Start by calling the 800 number on the back of your insurance card and ask to speak with a representative.

The information on our helpful form will walk you through the steps to learn if your insurance will cover the cost of nutrition counseling.

What insurance companies does Jen Messer Nutrition participate with?

Right now we are in-network with Aetna, Allways Health Partners, Anthem BCBS, Cigna, Harvard Pilgrim, New Hampshire Healthy Families, Tufts Health Plan, United Healthcare, and Well Sense Health Plan

I live far away, can I use my insurance for telehealth services?

Yes, if you are a New Hampshire resident. In NH HB 1623, signed on July 21, 2020, by Governor Chris Sununu made permanent several telehealth freedoms passed by emergency measures to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. This means if your insurance covers in-person visits with your dietitian it will also cover Telehealth visits with your dietitian. We now have more options to fit what works best for your health journey. Hybrid models of care are available too. We are also licensed to practice in Massachusetts.

What questions should I ask when calling my insurance company?

Please note it is the patient’s responsibility to call their insurance company PRIOR to your visit to confirm coverage. We don’t want our clients to have ANY surprise bills.

Use our easy, printable form that will walk you through the call.
